As a mother I was inspired to create JG and the BC Kids because I was inspired by my own child, who, when he was little loved dinosaurs, science, and learning. He like many children did not aspire to be a carbon copy of what is deemed popular, or what we call that lure of fitting in. Publishing companies seemed to only want sad oppressive, or the same historical stories when it came to ethnic characters. My team and I want to bring you a fresh perspective, and I think we have accomplished just that. Vincent Spencer, who likes to call himself an art mercenary, and believe me he is, has stuck by me through the thick and thin. His famous words to me have always been, ‘if it was easy everybody would be doing it,' and all you out there know that is the truth.
