I would like to say I was an extra a few shows when u was the mom on the show. thank u for being so nice classy & undertsanding. U offered to allow us to eat on the set if we wanted. LOL. That was unheard of. Principals never talk or acknowledge extras. u never made us feel that way on the days I worked. I was not surprised when I heard u was fired. Everyone adored u!! That cant happen on somebody else show. U guys were obviously seasoned actors compared to a Name actor that lipping u all lines. Yes a trained person as myself can see him lipping the other actors lines... lol
Can u believe his sucess? LOL LUCKY!!
but!! what goes around comes around. he will never win the big one!!! he doesnt have the chops.
he is constantly upstaged himself. His 15 minutes r up anyway... u will see. He will always be a rapper. A wana be singer that cant sing. r rappers. I have a feeling u will rise form the ashes..... I'm waiting. it will happen. U cant stop a talented person from working.....hang in there girl!!

Thank you for providing your readers with the news about Janet Hubert,
I have loved her character on The Fresh Prince of Belair. I thought she was down
to earth black beauty. I have wondered what happened to her over the years. I am
looking forward to reading he memoir. I loved her down to earth lovable
character. I am glad that she was able to continue to fight and not give up on
her goals and aspirations. I love her tenacious spirit. I hope her much success
in the near future. Mrs. Hubert continue to inspire younger women such as my
self to never give up on your dreams no matter how many people kick you down.
Take care and God Bless you always.
Tracy
Hi Janet,
I, like most everyone else, LOVED you as Aunt Viv. There could be no other. I
show no dis-repect to the lovely actress who followed in your steps. You could
clearly see there was an effort to diminish the role you formerly filled. It was
evident to me and my family that the rumors (for the most part) were true. Your
character was strong, accomplised and spoke volumes for women everywehere. And
you filled the role superbly.
I believe that Will (and/or his management) pushed you out. I admire Will as an
actor and praise him for all he's accomplished. (His movies are entertaining and
he'll probably get annointed with an Oscar soon enough depending on how
Hollywood politics play out).
So with no 'hating' for Will Smith, I would like to believe I can objectively
say it was a concerted effort to get you out.
I hope to see you in something soon. I'll be purchasing your memoirs. Thank you
for writing it. You show strength in being able to hold your head up and tell
truth as the 'Willacane' is sure to be watching how this all plays out.
Much respect and love for a stellar actress,
Angie Miller
Dearest Ms. Hubert,
I understand what happened to you on FPOBA (Fresh Prince). What a dirty deal.
As blacks in the entertainment community, we should be pulling each other up and
over the mountain.
It is our duty as African-Americans, to help each other. Yes, we should help
others to, I'm not saying to be exclusive, I am saying, "Let's be inclusive"
especially with people who resemble ourselves.
I will make sure I pre-order a copy of your book and pass the word along to my
friends and family.
Please, send me pre-ordering instructions and check out the article I wrote
about you and your story on my blog.
Hugs,
Author Seriously McMillan
Dear Ms. Hubert:
I am truly happy to hear what really happened to you on the Fresh Prince show.
It was such an enigma for me because you were simply marvelous on the show. I
could not for the life of me understand why you had been removed. During all
this time I was of the belief that you left the show for something better. I
continued to watch the show because it was so good, but your replacement did not
have the depth of character that you had, so the show was never the same. Even
now, when I chance to catch a rerun of the show, I am disappointed if you are
not in it.
Thank you so much for writing a memoir, I look forward to reading it.
Sincerely,
Pat Collins
Love You Janet, Aunt Viv
Janet, you are an amazing actress. I've missed you so much after you
were replaced. Daphne Reid was not a good fit at all. She was so boring! Her
and that new baby. I was so disappointed and had no interest in the show after
you were gone. I am so very sorry for any pain and disappointment you suffered
behind what took place as a result of no longer being on Fresh Prince. I want
you to know that you touched thousands of viewers in your character as Aunt Viv.
You are not only drop dead beautiful but extremely talented as well. When the
Fresh Prince comes on, I always yell out in the house "oh good this re-run has
the 1st Aunt Viv." All I want is to see your beautiful face and not Daphne
Reid's boring demeanor. I do pray that you are healing from anything related to
Will Smith, the show, etc. because you deserve the best! Because you are the
best and still looking good, you go Janet! Congratulations to your son, your
book, and the JG& the BC Kids. I don't have any children but value any positive
education our children can receive. Thanks for your hard work and sharing your
gift of acting to the world. Love and Peace.
ou were so believable as The Aunt, and in a totally believalbe
relationship with Phillip.. you were sooooo good, you gave me goosebumps. so
natural, sexy, funny, a normal nagging mother and wife, I could go on and on..
Its too bad you had no other sitcom roles, or movie roles, as I love to watch
you act.. Please hang in there, and find another venue for your talent, on TV or
the big screen. You got it girl.
Kurt
I have Always Wondered What happened To You ...... In The End I Just
Chalked It Off As You Gave Birth And Did Not want To come Back. The Show Gave No
Explanation They Just Did a Darren Switch. In Observing Will Smith Career I
Realize Him Being Part Of The Cult Of Scientology I Intentionally Do Not
Patronize any Of His Films Or His Wives Produced Shows. I Of course Do Not Know
Them Personally But something about Joining That Cult Is Scary. I Cannot Wait
To See What Shows Have You On Or How Much Power Does He Have To Stop That
Action. Off Subject a Bit. I Hope I Survive to 53 And Look As Good As You Do.
Your Work As An Actor Was Memorable And Good.
Karen Jackson
Dear Janet,
I have just read an excerpt from your book and disappointed but, unfortunately,
not shocked by Will Smith's behavior. I have always suspected that Hollywood
and the entertainment field in general promotes less than the most talented of
individuals because of a fear of competition. I have a daughter, 21, who is
studying classical voice and also very pretty. It never surprises me when she
doesn't win a competition or fails to nab the lead in an opera production even
though I have been told over and over again by 3 former Metropolitan Opera stars
that she has talent beyond belief. No one likes stiff competition, especially
mediocre talents like Will Smith, and they will do almost anything to keep
talented people away.

I think you are an awesome actress and very missed when you left the
show. I just asssumed you moved on to somthing better. How your roll could be
cut is a mystery to many viewers. You were gret as Vivian Banks! I look forward
to seeing you in somthing of your own!

Hi Janet
I really loved you on Fresh Prince. I was sad to not see you on anymore as you
were fantastic and really fit the part well. Now today I read the reasons why
and I wish this had all come out back then. I think your fans may have been able
to keep you on the show. A real shame. Can't wait for your book to come out.
All the best
Brenda Medrala
I can't wait to read your book. I wonder if it had been a man in your
position, and would he have been pushed out like you. You were the best part of
the show. Just like Mrs. Huckstable from the Cosby Show.
I commend your courage and strength to share with everyone your story.
Betsy Rosenbaum
just so you know janet...u ARE the only aunt viv. reid never came
close to replacing you. you were truly missed by those of us who grew up
watching the banks family.
beth
Hi Janet I just wanted to say that I couldn't believe that they'd
replaced you on "The Fresh Prince" you were/are so much better than Daphne Reid.
I loved you as Aunt Vivian you made me laugh and i watch the show to see you, it
was so weird when i turned on the show and you were no longer on there. I was
both shocked and confused because they could have atleast gotten an actress that
resembled you somewhat because it just seemed weird that Aunt Viv got lighter
all of a sudden.
andrea weaver
Janet,
I'm so glad to have this chance to express to you how much you were miss. In the
this mean cruel world the word irreplaceble seems to mean nothing to anyone. And
you were irreplaceble, no matter how they cast another woman in your position.
I grew up watching "Fresh Prince of Bel Aire" , and you were the first thing
that caught my attention. I have never seen such a beautiful dark skin, well
dressed, well spoken black woman like you on TV. What I liked most about your
character you knew how to play all roles as the wife of a lawyer, you had class,
and if you had to go there and get hood, you could do that also. And I really
believe that you were really like that in real life. One of my favorite episodes
was the one when you had gone to audition for a dance position, I never knew you
could dance like that, hell I knew you were not fat, but I didn't know how fit
you were until I saw you in your pink leotards. I grew up in South Central, and
I am a mother and wife, and I made sure that our children would never know what
living in the hood felt like. Sure people create sitcoms and tell stories about
living there, and think at times those things make you black but it doesn't. It
makes you feel hopeless, but if you have ambition, you know deep in your heart
there's something better out there. I don't know what really happen in your
life, only you know the truth. But what I do know when someone is as popular as
Will Smith no one will want to hear the real truth, because I'm sure Will Smith
in society eyes is perfect. Now I also love Will Smith, he's very entertaining,
so I won't front. But I know when someone is popular, people overlook their
flaws and they can do no wrong. I wish you well in your career, and I hope to
see you more on TV. I watch "One Life To Live", and as usual , you're
outstanding!!!! Always a lady, always classy, to me you're right up there with
Phylicia Rashad. Keep representing for every woman of every color, especially
for women of color.
Andrea
Dear Ms. Hubert,
I just wanted to write to let you know that I think you are an awesome women,
mom and actress. I cannot wait to purchase your book! I remember your
pregnancy on the Fresh Prince and thought it was great they wrote it in the
script. As a mother of one child, David Solomon, I am so happy to see that you
have started a new venture just for kids. Our son is a miracle child because we
lost four before him, and one after him. I know that God has a master plan for
his life and he is truly a terrific young boy. David is ten and will be
entering the fifth grade. Your bags are awesome and I look forward to
purchasing one for David. He is an honor student and is dedicated to becoming a
success in life. Thank you for being dedicated to our children and wish your
son much success in college.
Take Care and God Bless!
Love,
Cheri
Hi Janet "Aunt Viv" Hubert
I just wanted to say I loved you as Aunt Viv on the Fresh Prince, not I didn't
like Daphne Reid, but you brought that character to life; it was a perfect fit,
you had the spunk, energy, wit and that warm maternal look. I think that their
were a lot of disappointed fans out there when they replaced you. Just wanted to
say that, you are a great actress Miss Janet !
Good Luck in all you do
Doris
Janet, I am 52 year old Mom who used to watch Fresh Prince with my kids. I ALWAYS wondered what had happened to you. I ALWAYS thought you were great and enjoyed you more than the other Aunt Viv that took your place.
The other talented one who i am suprised got to stay was Hilary.......she was
hysterical ......never saw much of her after the show either.
Take care and good luck w/ all of your endeavors.
Oh, and i am happy you are speaking out about what happened to you -
Will Smith would have been a star w/ out under handed tactics ........tis
ashame.
Kathryn Witty
I wondered what happened when there was a new mother on Fresh Prince.
Janet, you were SO much better as the mom than Daphne Maxwell Reid. She just
didn't seem to fit in the show at all and neither did the baby or son or
whatever he was supposed to be, growing 5 or so years in one season! Really!
Hope you're doing well now.
Janet, You were great on Fresh Prince and Will Smith is just a pompous
jerk. I can honestly say I never saw the show after you left because you were
the only Vivian I knew.
